Painting Progress

Speaking of Wolfen, I thought that I may as well talk about Rune Priests.

These hardcore Librarians are armed with a force weapon and have a mighty 4 attacks, plus one for a pistol, makes the Psykers even more formidable opponents, and are especially good at hunting down pesky Space Marine captains that enjoy sitting up on hills and calling orbital bombardments down on things.

On top of all this, the Rune Priest gives himself (and the entire squad) a nice 5+ cover save, very handy against plasma-cannon-wielding armies. Of course the squad won’t get it when they get into combat, but you can always equip the Rune Priest with a Belt of Russ.

Here's my Rune Priest: still plenty of painting work to do, so I'll post updates as I get closer to finishing.

Unit of the Week

Unit of the Week won't always be Space Wolves, but it usually will be. Today I'm talking tabletop efficiency.
In regards to Wolfen, I was highly disappointed when I asked my local GW (yes, YOU, Newcastle mob) about them and found that they only have two attacks (three for the extra hand weapon), only strength 4 (yes, that's right, I thought they were strength 5, with furious charge!), and their only useful special rules are rending and counter-attack (although these are quite handy).
And besides, these guys are prone to being shot up from large amounts of Devastator Squads, or those annoying Heavy Support Vehicles (cough cough Basilisks) that casually sit behind buildings as though they're on top of the world (I'm getting a Long Fang Squad in a Drop Pod to deal with the likes, hurray for splitting fire).
Next Blog: Rune Priests!
And here's a little something for you to think about at bedtime.
